[4 minute read]
Hi there! We are Martin and Cassie, and we're so glad you're here. We want to take a moment to introduce ourselves and share a glimpse into the journey that led us to launch Eternal King Ministries.
Together, we've had the privilege of serving on the mission field for a combined 14 years. Our experiences have shaped us profoundly, and it's from this foundation that our hearts have been stirred to embark on a new, vital mission: supporting those who carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
Martin's Journey: A Call to the Unreached
My journey began in South Africa. As a young teenager, I had a divine encounter with the Lord that transformed my life. I eagerly sought to know God more, and by the age of 15, He spoke to me, calling me to my first international mission trip. After high school, that call solidified into a commitment to full-time missions.
Stepping out in faith, I traveled to many nations, including Guatemala, Pakistan, and Congo, preaching the Gospel and teaching the Bible by the power of the Holy Spirit. It was during a trip to Asia that I had a profound encounter: my first interaction with someone who had never heard the name of Jesus. This moment ignited a deep burden in my heart, planted and nurtured by God, which grew into a long-term call to minister specifically to the unreached people of that region. I have now been serving in this sensitive nation for 7 years.
Cassie's Journey: Commissioned to the Nations
My own path to missions began in America with a radical encounter with God's presence when I was 26. In one evening, I was powerfully confronted with the reality of God, saved from my sin, and received a distinct call to be an overseas missionary. I immediately embarked on a journey of seeking the Lord's direction for my next steps.
God first began ministering through me in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, where I had the privilege of sharing the good news of the Gospel with individuals in extremely broken situations. Witnessing God's amazing work in lives that seemed impossible to reach deeply impacted me. Soon after, the Lord sent me to Africa and Cambodia. While on an airplane, flying over the vast mountains of the Asian country where I would eventually serve, the Holy Spirit spoke clearly to my heart: "Look down there. There are people who have never heard of Me. And they will never hear about Me if you don't tell them." Commissioned as a missionary to the unreached people of this area, I made the move and am now nearing my 10-year service anniversary.
Our Story Together: A Divine Connection on the Field
It was on the Asian mission field that our paths divinely crossed. At a ministry gathering, an easy friendship sparked between us. Before it could fully form, the Lord spoke to Martin: "You will be married within a year." Martin, surprised, asked, "To who?" God's clear answer was, "To Cassie." Just a few quick months later, we were married and back on the field as a newlywed couple; we've now been happily married for nearly seven years.
Together, we've had the honor of serving a variety of people and needs, including:
Sharing the Gospel with those who do not yet know Jesus
Teaching the Word of God to people who desire a deeper relationship with Him •Praying for healing for the sick
Ministering deliverance to those in spiritual bondage
Counseling survivors of abuse and trauma
Admonishing those struggling with sin
Developing physical aid programs
Planting churches
Individual and group discipleship
The Road Less Traveled:
Independent Service
Throughout our entire time on the mission field, we have always functioned independently, without official affiliation to any group or organization. Laboring in this way was a significant struggle at times. We faced the rough road of isolation, loneliness, and uncertainty that often comes with independent missions. Yet, through it all, God faithfully provided for us, often miraculously, through the loving and generous individuals of His Body, the Church. We are profoundly grateful for every person who is partnered with us in giving and prayer, and we glorify God for His consistent and abundant provision. Regardless of difficulty, we knew the Lord was leading us this independent way, trusting that one day He would connect us to the broader Body of Christ.
And He is faithful! God began to connect the dots of our experiences, opening our hearts to understand why He had led us on this specific, independent path. Turns out, our journey was not only for ourselves; it was meant for a greater service to missions.
In our next post, we'll dive into the very first spark that ignited the specific vision for Eternal King Ministries. Be sure to read Part 2 to continue our story! We're excited for what's next, and we'd love to hear from you along the way. Drop us a line at hello@eternalking.org
